SNP Schlawien advises LIP Invest on the purchase of a logistics property in Braunschweig
The commercial law firm SNP Schlawien advised LIP INVEST GmbH, a Munich-based investment specialist for logistics real estate, on the acquisition of a logistics property in Braunschweig. The advice included legal due diligence as well as support in drafting and negotiating the contract. The parties agreed not to disclose the purchase price. The seller of the property, which was offered by NAI apollo on its behalf to a limited circle of investors, is a large German pension fund.
The property, designed as a so-called mechanical delivery base, has been used by Deutsche Post/DHL since its construction in 2012. The property has around 5,000 square meters of hall and office space as well as 80 parking spaces for trucks, sprinters and cars. The property is conveniently located directly at Braunschweig's main railway station. DHL uses the location as a delivery base for the entire city and surrounding districts and is an important part of the network of the leading parcel service provider Deutsche Post. The existing lease will continue to run for the long term. The parcel distribution center in Braunschweig is now the eleventh property of the open-ended real estate special AIF "LIP Real Estate Investment Fund - Logistics Germany", whose acquisition further diversifies the portfolio.
LIP Invest is an established investment company specialising in logistics properties. With a team of real estate, investment and logistics specialists and more than 12 years of experience in the industry, LIP plans value-oriented strategies for its institutional clients with good returns and distributions compared to the industry. SNP Schlawien has previously supported LIP Invest in other transaction mandates.
